Boost Your Winter Energy!

I've spent the summer building healthy habits and these have helped me maintain my energy, and I'm determined to keep them going this winter. While colder days bring challenges, staying focused on your goals is key. Recently, I've slipped back into some bad habits, but I'm ready to take charge and not let it become a bigger issue. Let's achieve our goals together.

Here are some simple, effective strategies to maintain your healthy lifestyle. It's not new or rocket science, but they're easy to follow and can have a big impact. Importantly, they remind us of the power of small, everyday decisions. I suggest picking two or three to incorporate into your daily routine.

  • Hydrate Regularly: Opt for water or herbal tea. Sometimes thirst disguises itself as hunger.

  • Increase Your Veggie Intake: Aim for 3 cups of vegetables most days. They're nutritious and satisfying. Try roasting winter greens like broccoli and Brussels sprouts with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic. Add a sprinkle of dukkah, herbs, or chopped nuts for extra flavour. Yum!

  • Exercise Consistently: Stick to, or adjust your fitness plan, don't give up on it! Aim to go outside at least three times a week. Braving the cold or rain will make you feel accomplished. Embrace winter!

  • Follow a 90/10 Rule: Make healthy choices 90% of the time. Enjoy treats you'll really love just on the weekends or special occasions.

  • Seek Support: Find someone who can support your goal or join you in this journey. If you would like help from me and are interested in a free 20-minute call, click the Book a Call button in the menu above.

  • Set a Personal Mantra: Identify why keeping these healthy habits matters to you. Do you want to feel strong, energetic, sexy, more able, or healthier? Choose a phrase that resonates with you and repeat it to yourself.

  • Do Something Fun or New Weekly: Engaging in new or enjoyable activities can boost your mood and refresh you.

  • Embrace Winter: Winter is a time to hibernate! Relax indoors. Cuddle up with a blanket, enjoy a movie, and unwind.

  • Practice Kindness: Be gentle with yourself and those around you.

Here's my personal plan for a healthier winter:

1. Maintain the 90/10 rule and make sure not to drop to 70/30!

2. Go back to having 3 cups of vegetables everyday.

3. Add more exercise and fun to my routine.
